Birth Doulas
A birth doula is a resource. She is a support person, mentor, friend and ally. Birth doulas are with you before, during and after birth to help you transition into new parenthood (even if not for the first time). They work to help you acheive a positive and rewarding experience in bringing your new baby into the world.
Earth Mama birth doula services include: |
• 2 Pre-natal visits (3 as needed)
• Educational information, resources and referrals
• Help in creating and tailoring a birth plan to your individual needs and desires
• Constant support through labor, birth and 2-3 hours postpartum
• Early breastfeeding help
• 1-2 Postpartum visits in which the birth experience is discussed and processed and any questions are answered.
| • Shopping help to assist you in buying/registering for what you really need for a new baby as well as insider tips on all the products you can live without.
• Meeting with your care provider or attending childbirth classes with you (if desired)
• Unlimited phone consultations throughout pregnancy and postpartum
• Discounts on other Earth Mama services including massage and belly casting
• 24 hour on-call availability surrounding the month of your due date

Postpartum Doula
A Postpartum Doula can cater her services to your family's specific needs. Services almost always include, but are never limited to: |
• Breastfeeding help and referrals
• Emotional support
• Cooking, cleaning and errands
• Baby and mother massage
• Childcare or baby care
• Help with baby blues or postpartum depression

(Postpartum care is scheduled in 4 hour blocks only unless you are already a birth client).
Fees: $25/hour |
Sibling Companion

This service is ideal if you would like your older child/ren to be present at your birth but are unsure of how they will react. Earth Mama Doulas can provide your little one with support, awareness and connection to the birth and therefore create deep sibling attachments with the new baby. This service can be especially useful in home births.

Placenta Encapsulation
Earth Mama now offers placenta encapsulation! Encapsulation is the process of drying out the placenta, grinding it up into a fine powder and putting it into pill form for easy consumption. Many are discovering the amazing benefits of consuming placenta after childbirth. Some if the benefits include:
- It can increase your energy and make for a smoother postpartum
- Your placenta contains your own natural hormones and is safe
- It can help replacing iron
- It may decrease postpartum bleeding
- Helps with "Baby Blues"
- Can help with milk production
One of our Doulas will arange to pick up your placenta within the first few days of your birth and bring back your encapsulated pills with in 24 hours with instructions. Most placentas yield between 75-125 pills.

Belly Casting
Do you want to create a piece of art to memorialize this life passage? We will come to your home and bring all the supplies. After a pregnancy belly cast is made it can be left as is or painted and decorated in any way you desire. We invite you to create a masterpiece of your own!
Fees: $75, $50 for doula clients |
